Abstract

Because of in intensive use of energy and high prices in numerous international locations, it's far often debated if air-conditioning will provide higher manipulate of the indoor temperature or now not, and then improve comfort and productivity. But there also exist many examples of discomfort in air-conditioned buildings because of draught and noise. Alternatively, cooling may be done by water-primarily based radiant cooling systems, where pipes are embedded within the constructing structure, or in the middle of the concrete slabs in multi-tale homes. For nicely-designed buildings those forms of system are able to presenting a relaxed indoor weather in one of a kind climatic zones. A brought advantage may be reduced constructing top because of the removal of suspended ceilings. Ultimately, slab cooling systems use water at a temperature near room temperature. The present paper will discuss the possibilities and barriers of radiant slab cooling systems and examples of homes having this sort of systems are presented.
